IGIS has strong linkage with industries because of emerging need of geospatial technologies to solve country problem. IGIS intends to provide basic support and capacity building to all government institutes to establish GIS based facilities. IGIS intends to enhance these relations by focusing on

  • Research projects in developing National Spatial Data Infrastructure.
  • GIS Based solutions and applications to solve water, and energy crisis.
  • Utilization of remote sensing, satellite imagery for efficient natural resource management.
  • Curriculum review at School/College with industry’s help: Program Advisory Committee (TPL Maps, Bakhabar Kisan, LMKT)
  • Student and faculty placements: Continous visits of industry representatives to IGIS & Students and faculty visits to industry are arranged for indulging modern concepts, technologies for effective learning .
