In The Spotlights NUST student wins the best research paper award at PEDRR (Pakistan Expo on Disaster Risk Reduction)

IGIS Student from MS-2019, Mr Zain Ahmed Bin Amir, presented his paper titled Quantifying Earthquake-Induced Landslides: A Comparative Analysis of Landslide Susceptibility Mapping via Frequency Ratio and Logistic Regression Models” at the inaugural Pakistan Expo on Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR-2023), organized by the esteemed National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

The event provided a platform to showcase groundbreaking research aimed at minimizing the impact of natural disasters in our country. The research holds significant implications at the national level, aligning with the goals of NDMA and offer valuable insights into disaster preparedness and response strategies along with informed decision-making, aiding authorities in formulating effective mitigation plans and resource allocation during post-earthquake scenarios.

Mr Zain Ahmed Bin Amir was awarded a prize for the best research paper presented at the conference.
