Summary
Dr. Javed Iqbal has been working since 2009 as a professor at the Institute of Geographical Information Systems, School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. He has over 25 years of teaching and research experience at national and international levels. He published over 30 impact factor publications and over 35 non-impact factor publications. Before joining NUST, he worked at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, USA as a faculty member from 2005-2007 and as a post-doc research associate in USDA-ARS at Mississippi State University, USA, from 2000 to 2005. During his stay in the USA, he worked on multidisciplinary projects related to GIS and remote sensing applications in natural resources management. His expertise/research area includes soils spatial variability, crop modeling, GIS & remote sensing applications in natural resources management. Climate change impacts glaciers of the greater Himalayan and Karakoram regions, modeling glacier lake outburst flood (GLOFs), Hydrometeorological modeling of riverine floods, Debris & glaciers avalanche modeling, landslide hazard mapping, and assessments. He supervised over 100 Master's and 5 Ph.D. Students. He designed Geoinformatics and Ph.D. Remote sensing and GIS curriculum.
