History of IGIS

The Institute of Geographical Information Systems (IGIS) is first of its kind higher education institute in Pakistan delivering state of the art education in spatial sciences and remote sensing. It was established in the year 2004.  Inititally it offered short courses in the field, followed by MS program 2005, followed by BE in the year 2010 and PhD in 2013.

We have modern classrooms, laboratories, hardware and software. We offer four years Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Geoinformatics, two years MS in Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographical Information Systems(GIS) and a Ph.D. program. Beside the degree programs, we also offer short courses in GIS and Remote Sensing to private and public sector organizations on demand.

We experienced faculty holding Ph.D. and MS degrees from reputed International Universities. In the years ahead, we plan to pursue, our vision of expanding not only our academic programs but also the student intakes, while ensuring high academic and research standards.
